Visit to the National Arboretum Lichfield

The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance. The expansive 150-acre site is centrally located in the National Forest in Staffordshire. Featuring over 330 thought-provoking memorials, nestled amongst lush and maturing woodland. Military and Civilian associations are represented alongside tributes for individuals. Rich in design and symbolism, the memorials and their fascinating stories are waiting to be discovered.
The Arboretum is home to the striking Armed Forces Memorial which commemorates those who have been killed on duty or as a result of terrorism from the end of the Second World War to the present day.

Summer Party - 1960's Flower Power Theme

What a fantastic evening!

Our hardworking committee had excelled themselves with the planning and organisation of this wonderful evening.  The hall looked fantastic with the tables all decorated in a different colour, the buffet was superb, the flower quiz good fun as were the games and we all remembered the words to the music.

Ready to enjoy the evening

South Yorkshire Federation Heritage Walk around Thorpe Hesley

Friday 30th June saw 18 WI teams from across the Federation meet at the Trinity Centre for this years Heritage Walk which we won last year.
Sue Dixon and Pat Henderson were in charge of registering the teams and giving out the clues and maps.  There were two routes planned with one starting in Holy Trinity and the other in the churchyard.  Jean Phillips was on hand at the bottom of the church drive to ensure teams followed the correct route.

Jean ready for action!
